Douglas Motorsports Wins in Crandon – Prepares for CORR PRO-4
Title Run
El
Cajon, CA (September 9, 2008) – After coming off a win in Crandon,
Douglas Motorsports is looking to extend its lead in the CORR PRO-4
Championship chase. The Labor Day weekend in Crandon was highlighted
with a Sunday morning win against a strong field of WSORR and CORR
competitors.
Sunday – Round XII
The land rush start had the AMSOIL Kumho Tire Sycuan Casino KC
Hilites Ford F-150 coming out of Forest County Potawatomi Turn One
in third place. By lap two, Scott was right behind the leader #4
Greaves. As the two leaders headed for Barn Jump, for the third
time, Scott used all his ProPower horsepower and muscled his way
past Greaves for the lead. From that point, Scott never looked back,
taking the win. Douglas Motorsports now has a WSORR victory to add
to his two CORR wins, so far this year.
Afterwards, Scott Douglas commented, “The win early this afternoon
was awesome. Bill Smith made a minor change in our setup and the
AMSOIL Kumho Tire Sycuan Casino KC Hilites Ford F-150 was just a
rocket. Johnny and I had nice battle the first two laps, then
everything just clicked and we just out ran everyone.”
Quickly,
the team’s focus went back to winning the CORR PRO-4 championship.
Once the hauler made the trip back to El Cajon, the team when
through final preparations getting both PRO-4 trucks ready for Chula
Vista II.
Scott Douglas and his #7 AMSOIL Kumho Tire Sycuan Casino Ford F-150
have finished on the podium in eight of the ten rounds or racing.
This includes two wins, one runner-up finish, and five third place
finishes. In the ten qualifying sessions, Douglas Motorsports has
put the #7 AMSOIL Kumho Ford in the top two spots, eight times. The
2008 Bill Smith/Pro-Fab designed PRO-4 chassis is a real rocket
ship.
“This new truck that Bill Smith designed and fabricated, has been
fast, the moment it got to the track,” remarked Scott Douglas. “Bill
had a few innovative ideas he wanted to try and I said, “Let’s do
it.” The chassis is very
adaptable.
When a change is made, you can easily document the result. The other
half of the equation is the vendors that supply us with the
components to make this truck run. John Marking at Fox Racing Shox
has an incredible product and he consults with us all the time. Bill
Schlieper with ProPower Engines is the same way. The list just goes
on and on, Jeremy Meyer with AMSOIL, Ed Cercek with Kumho Tire, and
Randy Anderson with Walker Evans Racing Wheels are always there
listening and giving us input. The same is true with J & H
Transmission, and Howe Performance. There’s a lot people involved
helping put Douglas Motorsports on top of the podium.”
With six rounds of racing to go in the 2008 CORR PRO-4 Championship,
Scott Douglas has a nine point lead over second place, Carl
Renezeder.
The next race for Douglas Motorsports is September 13-14,
Championship Off-Road Racing at the QUARRY, Chula Vista, California.
Don’t forget you can catch this Saturday’s CORR race from the
